Marble, Granite & Natural Stone in Idukki — Living Stone

Living Stone supplies Idukki — Kerala’s hill, plantation and tourism district — from our Kochi flagship. Thodupuzha at 65 km is within easy same-week reach; Munnar at 130 km via mountain road is project-scale work. For clients across the district, that means access to the full slab archive at our Kochi gallery, hospitality-grade installation crews, and freight planned around honest hill-road logistics.

What we supply across Idukki

  • Italian marble for resort lobbies, plantation-bungalow foyers, church altars and premium residential — Carrara, Statuario, Calacatta, Italian Beige
  • Indian marble — Makrana, Rajnagar White, Albeta
  • Granite — Black Galaxy, Absolute Black, Steel Grey, Kashmir White for kitchens, terraces, pool decks and exterior plantation applications
  • Travertine — warm-toned, hospitality-grade for resort verandas, foyers and pool surrounds
  • Natural stone tiles — marble, granite, travertine, Kota stone for verandas, courtyards, outdoor dining
  • Plantation-bungalow stone — joinery-matched profiles for cardamom, tea and coffee estate architecture
  • Church and heritage stone — altar slabs, memorial stones, traditional profiles for Syrian Christian churches across the Thodupuzha–Kattappana corridor

Why Idukki clients choose Living Stone

Altitude and climate awareness. From Thodupuzha at 200 m to Munnar at 1,700 m, stone behaves differently at each elevation — different thermal cycles, different sealer schedules, different installation expansion allowances. We bring elevation-specific selection rather than generic coastal-Kerala specifications.

Hill-resort and plantation experience. Decades of work along Kerala’s hospitality and plantation corridors. We know the access logistics, the weight constraints of mountain-road freight, and the finish standards of boutique hill hospitality and traditional plantation bungalow restoration.

Syrian Christian church tradition. The Thodupuzha–Idukki–Kattappana corridor has a deep Syrian Christian residential and pilgrimage tradition. We have supplied stone for altars, memorial stones and church-adjacent residential work across this belt.

Honest freight economics. Hill-road logistics add cost — particularly for Munnar and Vandiperiyar deliveries. We quote it transparently as a line item.

One team, end to end. Sourcing, fabrication, installation and a two-year installation warranty — all in-house.

Frequently asked.

A short guide for clients in Idukki — climate, cost ranges, logistics and what we can bring on site.

Ask your own →
01 Do you have a stone showroom in Idukki? +
Idukki is a hill district — Thodupuzha is 65 km / 90 minutes from our Kochi flagship, Munnar is 130 km / about 3.5 hours by mountain road. We serve Idukki from Kochi with site visits booked within 5 days, sample case dispatch ahead, and freight planned around hill-road weight and access constraints. Call +91 999 549 8755 to discuss.
02 Which areas in Idukki do you deliver and install in? +
We cover the full Idukki district — Thodupuzha, Munnar, Adimali, Kattappana, Kumily, Painavu, Vandiperiyar, Nedumkandam — and the corridor extending toward the Tamil Nadu border at Bodi. Project orders are dispatched from our Kochi warehouse with site supervision through installation.
03 How does Idukki's altitude and climate change stone selection? +
Idukki ranges from 200 metres at Thodupuzha to over 1,700 metres at Munnar — significantly cooler and more temperature-variable than coastal Kerala, with intense monsoon and frequent fog at higher altitudes. Stones behave differently: granites perform excellently outdoors, polished marble holds its finish well in cool indoor climates, and travertine works beautifully in resort verandas and plantation-bungalow foyers. Drainage detailing and sealer schedule matter more here than in coastal projects.
04 Do you supply stone for Munnar resorts and hill hotels? +
Yes — Munnar's hospitality belt is one of our strongest categories. Tea-garden resorts, plantation-stay properties and boutique hill hotels have called on us for Italian marble in lobbies, travertine and granite for pool decks and verandas, natural stone tiles for outdoor dining, and engineered stone for high-traffic public areas. Hill-resort finish standards are demanding — we bring matched installation discipline.
05 Do you supply stone for plantation bungalows in Idukki? +
Yes. Idukki has a deep tradition of cardamom, tea and coffee plantation bungalows — many being restored or extended. We supply Kota stone for courtyards, granite for plinth and exterior work, polished marble and travertine for interior foyers, and natural stone tiles for verandas. Our installation crews are comfortable with the joinery and proportions of traditional plantation architecture in the Kumily, Vandiperiyar and Munnar belts.
06 Do you handle church and pilgrimage projects in Idukki? +
Yes. Idukki has a strong Syrian Christian residential and pilgrimage tradition — particularly along the Thodupuzha–Idukki–Kattappana corridor, with significant Catholic and Orthodox church infrastructure. We supply Italian marble for altars, granite for plinth and external work, memorial stones, and traditional carved profiles for church restoration and adjacent-build projects.
07 What does marble and granite cost in Idukki? +
Indian marble flooring in Idukki typically ranges ₹120–₹350 per sq ft for material. Italian marble (Carrara, Statuario, Calacatta) ranges ₹450–₹2,500+ per sq ft. Granite is ₹120–₹400 per sq ft. Travertine ₹200–₹600 per sq ft. Hill-road freight adds a transparent logistics line item, particularly for Munnar and Vandiperiyar deliveries.
08 Can I see samples in Idukki? +
Yes — physical slab samples and finish boards couriered to your Idukki address. For Italian marble, exotics and bookmatched pairs, a guided visit to our Kochi gallery is recommended; we coordinate logistics, including overnight stay coordination for architect-led plantation projects.
